American recording artist Beyoncé Knowles began her career in the late 1990s as the lead vocalist of one of the best-selling American bands of all time, Destiny's Child, which has sold around fifty million records worldwide. Her discography as a solo artist began in 2003 and consists of four studio albums, two extended plays, five live albums, one remix album and forty-eight singles—including ten as a featured artist and twelve soundtrack and promotional singles. All of her studio albums won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album, and debuted at the number one spot on the United States Billboard 200. Knowles has attained five US Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles. Knowles has sold 79 million records worldwide as a solo artist, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. In the US, she has sold over 11.2 million albums and nearly 25 million singles as of May 2010. In late 2009, Billboard listed Knowles as the most successful female artist and the top radio artist of the 2000s decade, and in February 2010, the Recording Industry Association of America listed her as the top certified artist of the decade. In the United States alone, she has attained 64 certifications, including albums, digital songs, master ringtones and music videos. Knowles has also received the most ringtone certifications, with 19.
