Pension Woes
chicagotribune.com 2 weeks, 4 days agoI am a retired Chicago Public Schools teacher and a National Board Certified teacher. I retired in 2007 after 34 years of teaching. I was able to retire knowing I would make the average pension of about $42,000 (before taxes, health insurance, etc.) but knew I would be in line for a 3 percent annual increase once I turned 61 years of age.
