Is Polarization Making Congress Dumber?

Congress now speaks at a 10.6 grade level , a high-school student, halfway through sophomore year , down from a 11.5 grade level in 2005, according to a Sunlight Foundation analysis of the Congressional record. nydailynews.com 4 days, 2 hours agoCONGRESS IS dumbing it down, big-time. Senators and members of the House of Representatives now communicate slightly above the 10th grade level , a full academic level lower than they spoke when last reviewed in 2005.
