"
Day 'n' Nite" is the debut single by
alternative hip hop recording artist Kid Cudi. It was produced by
Dot da Genius and released February 2008 as a single, but was
leaked in December 2007 and was featured on several
blogs in mid-November 2008. It serves as the
lead single from his debut studio album
Man on the Moon: The End of Day. The song has so far sold over 2,000,000 digital downloads in the United States.
The song was
remixed in June 2008 by
Italian production duo
Crookers, entering the charts at #10 and was ranked #15 the list Best 25 Songs of 2009 by
Rolling Stone.
In 2012, in an interview with
Complex magazine, Kid Cudi revealed "
Mind Playing Tricks on Me" inspired him to write and record "Day 'n' Nite": "'My Mind Playing Tricks On Me' is my favorite song in the world. I love it so much I wanted to make my own version of it. And then 'Day 'N' Nite' came out of it."
