Rock Climber's At Harper's Ferry
cnn.com 2 weeks, 2 days agoThe Appalachian Trail runs right through the town of Harper's Ferry West Virginia. This is the historical place of the raid by the extreme abolitionist John Brown , his capture and hanging in near by Charlestown. It is also the home of the Battle of Harper's Ferry during the Civil War. Rock climbing, joggers, bicycling, white water rafting, canoeing and fishing are a few of the many activities enjoyed in this scenic little town, forgotten in time.

"I drove the course last night with my sister, who I coach, so we knew it was hilly," the 33-year-old resident of Gilbert, Ariz., said. "I knew it would be a hard day and I wanted to run the race with a hard-tempo effort."
